Day Of The Dead

Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is a celebration of life, not death. Observed on Thursday, Nov. 2, it represents an opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of departed loved ones through art, music, dancing and food. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Café Carmel will bake cookies with Halloween and Day of the Dead themes, donating 10 percent of our sales (up to $500) to Hijos Del Sol Arts Productions, a community-based organization providing art instruction for children and youth of underserved neighborhoods, including many that are homeless, in foster care, or seeking a fresh start in this country.
