Sarah Cook bought Carmel’s Wishart’s Bakery in December and, after some updates, opened it as Cafe Carmel during the pandemic.
CARMEL — As she grew up on the South Coast of England, learning to make pastries and other special recipes handed down through her family, Sarah Cook used to imagine opening a little café in the village where she lived — or one like it. She pictured serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch, and something special to serve with a pot of tea.
